Choose your carbon removal

Choose the amount of CO₂ you want to remove. We'll complete it on your behalf using certified, durable, ex-post carbon removal. You’ll receive an email with a public registry link within one month of purchase to confirm your removal has been completed.

Carbon removal for individuals

For individuals who want to clean their remaining carbon footprint responsibly, the scientifically accepted approach at present is certified, ex-post, durable carbon removal with public registry proof. Remove Carbon Today is built specifically to provide this for individuals.

We have created a practical guide that explains how carbon removal works, how it differs from traditional offsets, and how individuals can remove their unavoidable emissions.

How it works

1. You choose the amount - from kilograms to lifetime removal

2. You choose the pace - one-time or recurring

3. We remove CO₂ on your behalf - through certified removal partners

4. Your removal is completed - within one month of purchase

5. You receive proof - email with public registry link

Who does it?

Your carbon removals are physically removed from the air and durably stored as biochar by our certified removal partners Truecoco in Ghana and Planboo in Namibia.

All removals are certified by Puro.earth and independently verified before being retired on your behalf.

  • Every time a full ton of carbon removals is sold through our store, one CO₂ Removal Certificate (CORC) is retired on behalf of our customers in the public registry of Puro.earth.

When your purchase contributes to that completed ton, you receive an email with a link to the public retirement record confirming that the CO₂ has been removed on your behalf and claimed only once. This happens within one month of purchase.

Got questions?

How do I know the carbon is really removed?

All carbon removal offered through Remove Carbon Today is certified by Puro.earth, one of the world’s leading carbon removal crediting platforms. Our removal partners are independently verified under science-based standards to physically remove CO₂ from the atmosphere and durably store it for 100+ years.

Each removal is issued and retired in the public registry of Puro.earth, providing clear proof that the CO₂ removal is real, traceable, and claimed only once.

When is my carbon removal completed?

The carbon removal you purchase has already been physically removed by certified projects. Your purchase secures the selected amount for you, and we retire the corresponding CO₂ Removal Certificate (CORC) in the public registry of Puro.earth once purchases add up to a full ton.

Your carbon removal will be retired and completed within one month of purchase, and you receive a confirmation email with a link to the public registry record as soon as it’s done.

Why durable carbon removal matters?

Global warming is accelerating due to record-high levels of carbon dioxide already accumulated in the atmosphere. While reducing future emissions is critical, it does not remove the existing excess CO₂ from the air.

Durable carbon removal is necessary because it physically removes the excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and stores it for the long term. This is essential to lower the atmospheric CO₂ levels and sustain long-term climate stability.

How much should I remove?

There is no single number that fits everyone. A practical way to approach carbon removal is to first measure your footprint, reduce what you reasonably can, and then remove the remaining emissions.

You can start with a smaller amount today, choose an ongoing monthly removal, or remove a larger amount in one go to take responsibility for your remaining emissions. What matters most is choosing an amount that reflects your values and turns intent into real, durable impact.

What is the pricing based on?

Our pricing per kilogram is based on the real average price we pay to our certified carbon removal partners for each CO₂ Removal Certificate (CORC), plus an operating margin of 10% to run, scale, and continuously improve our service.

Compared to traditional offsets focused on reduction or avoidance, certified carbon removals (such as biochar) cost more because they fund verified physical removal and durable storage of CO₂ for over 100 years, which delivers a measurable climate impact now.
