Our planet is warming faster than expected, because there is too much carbon dioxide (CO₂) in the atmosphere.

To avoid more severe climate disruptions and to reverse the climate change we started, we must remove the excess carbon fast.

1 - There are companies who remove carbon

Around the world, there already are companies who remove more carbon dioxide than they emit.

For example, our first partners in Ghana and Namibia convert agricultural waste into durable biochar, and in the process they lock carbon away for long term, and for real.

2 - Puro certifies these companies

Puro.earth sets robust, science-based methods for carbon removal that these companies use. Independent auditors ensure they meet Puro's requirements. And Puro makes sure their carbon removal is real, measured, durable, and scientifically verified.

Once certified, Puro issues and publishes official CO₂ Removal Certificates called CORCs to these companies, the suppliers. They get one CORC for every ton of carbon they remove, which guarantees a durable, stable carbon storage of 100+ years.

3 - Remove Carbon Today buys CORCs

The suppliers sell the CORCs to corporations, like Microsoft and British Airways, so they can fulfil their commitments to reach net zero.

Like other companies, Remove Carbon Oy buys the CORCs in bulk. And we then split them and offer them in smaller, affordable quantities at our store so that people like you can have an easy way to contribute.

4 - You choose your amount to remove

Now it's your turn! You may remove your CO₂ emissions of your last flight, your monthly commute, or your annual footprint. You can choose the amount and set the pace - one time or recurring. Or you can give a removal gift.

Whatever you choose, you are taking real, measurable climate action and making an immediate and permanent impact.

5 - Once a full ton is reached, we retire a CORC for you

Every time we've sold a full ton of removals at our store, we retire one CORC on behalf of the customers. This is documented at Puro's public registry.

When your purchase is part of the full ton sold, you will receive a link to the CORC retirement statement to confirm that your removal has been completed. This will happen within a month from your purchase.
