Traditional offsets aim to reduce or avoid future emissions, whereas certified carbon removals physically remove the CO2 already in the atmosphere and store it durably for 100+ years. We've retired the second full ton of carbon dioxide on behalf of our customers. The CORC from Planboo's project has been retired at Puro's registry and one metric ton of CO₂ has now been physically removed and durably stored for over 100 years.

Based on early feedback, our founder explains the five steps that remove carbon today, immediately and permanently - 1) companies remove carbon, 2) Puro.earth certifies the removals, 3) we buy these certificates and sell them in relevant quantities, 4) so our customers can remove their emissions and 5) get a public registry proof of removal.

All our products can now be given as a gift. The recipient will receive the gift in an email with your message, and the product image and link. In a month, you both get the public registry link to confirm the completion of the carbon removal.

As suggested by early access customers, a new carbon removal product category is now live for everyday emissions, representing typical activities such as monthly coffee or commute, meals, shopping, and flights.

Based on customer feedback, we've added a How It Works page that explains your carbon removal process in five simple steps. Also, the Partner page now features both of our biochar partners, Truecoco and Planboo, and a page on Puro.earth carbon removal crediting platform has also been added.

The first video of why we started has been published in YouTube and Facebook. These social media sites are now live, and starting to build. We will share our own updates, as well as insightful videos and links from others that relate to carbon removals or climate change in general. We look forward to connecting with you there!

We reached the first full ton of carbon removal with our early access customers during November, and made the first CORC retirement from Truecoco in the Puro.earth public registry. The customers have received the link to the registry to confirm the completion of their immediate and permanent carbon removal.

The first two CORC supply contracts have been signed, one with Truecoco biochar project in Ghana, and another with Planboo biochar project in Namibia. The certified, ex-post carbon removals currently sold in the store have been completed by either of these projects.

The first early access customers have been invited to test the store and the first customers have purchased carbon removals. The invaluable early customer feedback is guiding the development of the site.

The first version of the Remove Carbon Today online store goes live and the first purchase and payment of carbon removal was processed from start to finish.

Remove Carbon Oy account was opened at Puro.earth crediting platform for certified carbon removals to enable the purchase, registration, retirement and tracking of ex-post CO₂ Removal Certificates (CORCs) in Puro's public registry.

The Remove Carbon Oy was officially founded and legally confirmed on 17th of September to operate a global online store for carbon removals under Finnish law.
